About Yardstx

Why This Exists

Elections are decided in a rush. Voters are expected to evaluate years of legislative activity in the final weeks of a campaign — on the basis of ads, sound bites, and party signals. That’s not enough.

Yardstx exists to change that. By tracking fact-based, measurable KPIs for every member of Congress — updated weekly — we give voters a running scorecard they can use all year, not just in October.

Our Principles

No spin.

We report numbers, not narratives. Every KPI is defined by a formula, not an editorial opinion. Our job is to present the data — yours is to interpret it.

No party preference.

The same formula applies to every member, regardless of party. We do not adjust scoring for political context. A missed vote is a missed vote.

Full source transparency.

Every number on this site links to the public record it came from. If you can't verify a number yourself, we haven't done our job.

Weekly cadence.

Congressional activity doesn't wait for election season. Neither do we. Scores update every Monday so you're never working from stale information.
